Each developer can create a publicly visible profile after registration. Your games will appear on your profile, alongside a custom description and all the links to your social media and personal website.
On heyVR users have the option to upgrade their standard account to a developer account.
Developer accounts give direct access to the heyVR Developer Dashboard, which is used to create new game projects. As well as test, manage and submit game builds for publication.
It also provides a simple and user friendly way to interact with certain SDK functions, view valuable (in-)game analytics (coming soon) and keep a close tab on in-game sales (coming soon).
Our platform includes a complete user management system, where users can register an account which is also available to the games they play.
This system will be used for the next features that we are about to explain.
The following is a short summary of the essential game APIs heyVR offers developers:
We provide a comprehensive leaderboard/highscore management system that allows you to define custom leaderboards for your games to store players' highscores. This encourages players to push their skills on your games.
For a detailed documentation of our leaderboard system, you can head over to our SDK Documentation for leaderboards.
Does your game require a save system? All you need to do is to use our SDK to save the game data, which will be tied to a user's account and accessible throughout all of the user's devices.
For a detailed documentation of our Safegame system, you can head over to our SDK Documentation for Savegame.
The Inventory API enables developers to introduce, manage and access items for their games and allows players to unlock and/or purchase these items.
You can create custom items for your games, sell it via a price or grant it to the player as an achievement for free.
For a detailed documentation of our inventory management system, you can head over to our SDK Documentation for inventory.
We offer dedicated matchmaking and multiplayer systems for developers to integrate in their games. Through our system you can create custom rooms for each games so that the users can play together.
You can even define custom teams for PvP game rooms, set maximum player count and more.
We also offer a communication and moderation system via our multiplayer. Players are able to communicate together as a team or via the public all-chat and admins will be able to moderate their teams and lobby.
This will allow you to push your multiplayer games to its desired limits.
For a detailed documentation of our multiplayer system, you can head over to our SDK Documentation for multiplayer.
Our Inventory system makes it possible for developers to introduce a broad spectrum of purchasable items to their games:
We also offer additional infrastructure support for implementing your unique monetization strategies.
All in-game transactions are made via our coin system, so you don't have to worry about managing the actual payment. You can keep track of sales through the Sales tab featured on the Developer Dashboard, and will receive proceeds from coin transactions paid out directly to your bank account at the end of each month.
Under our revenue share model, developers can expect to receive 100% net profit on sales up to $250 per month, per game - after which a 30% divvy is applied that gets allocated towards the continued development and improvement of the heyVR platform.
Every country and every US state has different laws and requirements regarding sales tax. Tools like Stripe Tax help with tracking the requirements, but registering and filing the taxes incurs significant fix-costs plus transactional fees. By taking care of all necessary value-added tax (VAT) procedures, heyVR also relieves developers from the stress of tracking and managing VAT compliance themselves.
For further details on monetization, you can head over to our Monetization Terms of Service.
